About the store

What days are you closed?

A.

Our main store is open every day except New Years Day. Last order at our café is 6pm.
※Please note that our Byoudouin store is occasionally closed depending on the day.

Do you have a carpark?
Do you accept tourist buses?

A.

We have a carpark at our main store, but not at our Byoudouin store. We accept tourist buses, but please cotact us directly before arriving.
※Please note that we are sometimes very busy and cannot accept tourist buses.

Do you have free WiFi?

A.

WiFi available only at the main shop.

Can I contact you via email?

Yes, you can. Our email address is shopinfo@itohkyuemon.co.jp. Please note that our office hours are 10am - 6pm, Monday to Friday. Sometimes it can take some time for us to reply in English . Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Can I smoke in the store?

Sorry, our store is smoke-free. However, please feel free to use our smoking area outside.

How many seats are there at your café? Do you accept group bookings?

A.

The tea room has 64 seats. Large groups may be required to divide into smaller groups. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry, we do not accept bookings.

I have young children. Will that be a problem?

A.

We provide spoons and folks for children, and please ask our staff if you require a child-seat for use at our café. Feel free to bring prams into our store, but please note that they may be difficult to use during busy times.

Does the café have a takeaway menu?

Sorry, we do not have a takeaway menu.

Do you have cool packs for storage?

A.

We sell cool packs for ¥226. The amount of time products can be stored in these varies depending on the season. Please ask our staff for more details.

Is it possible to have goods sent to my place of residence?

A.

Products can be sent by courier in Japan only. However, there are some areas we are unable to send to, and some products that cannot be sent due to their short expiry dates. Please ask our staff for more details.

Am I able to get a refund on products that are faulty?

A.

Please contact our store and we will arrange for a full refund on faulty products.

Do you do gift wrapping?

A.

We provide gift wrapping for all of our products. This service is free for all but a few of our products. Thank you for your understanding.

What is the best way to store tea leaves?

A.

Most of our products are sealed and can be stored at room temperature before opening.
After opening, we recommend storage in a tea can in the refrigerator. When storing, please take note of the following points.
1. Re-seal un-used tea leaves as soon as possible.
2. As tea easily absorbs other flavours, make sure to keep tea leaves sealed properly and away from other products.
3. Be careful to avoid allowing moisture to get into the tea leaves. When removing from the refrigerator in the warmer months, leave for a short time before opening to avoid moisture entering the tea.

How many cups of tea can 100g of leaves make?

A.

It depends on the type of tea, but usually 5g makes one to two servings, so 100g will make about 20 servings.

Do you accept credit cards?

A.

We accept NICOS, JCB, Diners, AMEX and UC credit cards. However, please note that we do not accept purchases made on credit cards during sale times and when using coupons for our café.
